Their non verbal son was outside playing with his two dogs Nala and Buckwheat in the backyard when he felt like he wanted to explore the Ponce de Leon neighborhood on his own and then got lost.

The 2 animals followed their little human and became untraceable as well.

The family informed the police immediately and asked the neighbours to watch out for their little one.

Holmes County and Walton County officers, along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission banded together to form a rescue team.

They also used search and rescue dogs but even after hours of searching there was no sign of Marshal.

As the anxious horse kept passing by, finally a neighbour made a breakthrough.

The sweet toddler was found wandering by the woods on the riverside, and Buckwheat and Nala, his best friends, were fiercely shielding the boy from the wilderness.

The toddler, who was only wearing a diaper, was all covered in mud and disheveled.

But thankfully he had no injuries thanks to his protective furry friends.

The family later thanked the community that did everything to help them get their son back, and also they expressed how grateful they are for their two brave dogs. The family said they believe that the dogs guided Marshal along the river and kept him at a safe distance from dangerous locations.

Those two furries are totally guardian angels.
